The major impact of the PiP recital was evidenced by an almost threefold increase in attendance. Midori’s appearance is also responsible for at least part of the substantial increase in season subscriptions this year. There likely will be lasting positive effects of this event on our grant writing and fundraising efforts as well. PiP Recitals and Master Class were incredible opportunities for our community, which is isolated by geography, traffic and the economy from the resources available in major metropolitan areas. Long-time classical music lovers, those new to classical music, and students participated in the Recitals and the Master Class, finding personal enjoyment and learning about the music, its context in history and its relationship to current day life. Partners in Performance was truly a memorable, educational, and inspiring experience for our community.
